Gerry doesn't work for the Kansas Chamber of Commerce

I have really started to look forward to Gerry's tips. Here he fills us in on the dire economic conditions for job seekers in Kansas.

If you need work don't come to Kansas!!!
If you are not living in Kansas consider yourself lucky. Kansas has the lowest minimum wage but yet the highest living expenses and the least and littlest economic growth. I am from Kansas and there are absolutely no jobs here. Kansas is the poorest state in America with the highest poverty rate. So how plainly can I say it if you need work, don't come to Kansas!!!

Daytipper seems to attract luddites

Another good rejected tip. This one comes from Gerry in Kansas. Gerry's tip is...

We Better Be Careful
Technology is getting too highly advanced. I believe that there is a possibility that it will get so advanced that the machines will gain a mind of their own and the machines will turn against us. All I have to say is this, we better be really careful.

The most popular submitted tip thus far....

is easily 'Add rice to your salt shaker to keep it from clumping'. We've probably seen about twenty differenty permutations of this tip. We liked it enough the first time, and the early bird got the worm. But we aren't going to accept the same tip twice. Another popular one involves various techniques to cleanse your hands of onion smell, presumably after chopping them up. Again, we thought it was clever and accepted the first one that was submitted. However, we won't accept any other similar 'get rid of onion stink' tips. So folks, if you are thinking about submitted a tip, I would encourage you to search for it first to see if it has already been submitted.

We've got a handy little Search feature that's built into all Daytipper tip pages. You can find it on the left hand side of the page, just underneath the category links. Type in your keywords and click on the Search button.

I will say that the quality of recently submitted tips has been impressive. We've got lots of great content to share. Stay tuned.

Seth is a marketing maven and is perhaps the leading authority on the web and new media. We were fortunate to have been mentioned on his blog as one of, "A few cool sites just waiting to be discovered."

Daytipper used to be Vitamin T

For those of you new to Daytipper, you might be surprised to know that we initially launched as Vitamin T. Vitamin T prescribed tips on a daily basis. Ultimately, we decided that the domain (www.dailyvitamint.com) didn't resonate and wasn't memorable. It obviously wasn't our first choice. We tried our best to secure a shorter and more succinct URL, but dailyvitamint.com was the best we could do. I'll provide a more through update on how we derived with our new name on a future post.

Anyway, the reason I'm mentioning all of this is because I don't want to confuse any readers. I've got some 'In the news' items to post, but they reference our old name. - Vitamin T.

Nathan in Renton, WA knows what to do in case you run into Sasquatch

It was hard to reject this one. Too clever. We decided that this tip is better suited for the blog...

How to survive a Sasquatch attack.
You are thinking, Sasquatch is a mythical creature. In the event that he’s real read on. It is important to remember to stay calm. Sasquatch is a recluse. That means one thing, he is afraid of technology, and that whole Manifest Destiny thing. Which is probably why you came outdoors to get away. Anyway, technology will mystify and frighten him at the same time. If you are standing face to face with sasquatch hold up your cell phone. The glow of the key pad alone will send him running.

Thanks, Nathan for a great tip. The office chuckled out loud when we read this one. We'll look forward to your future submittals.
