Get older kids to babysit without complaining
My son just became old enough to babysit his younger sister who is seven. He is eager to earn money but not so eager to watch his sister. I told him his pay was based on her "happiness" factor. If she said her brother did a good job when we came home, then he earned more. The good thing is, she is still young enough to be completely honest. So far, it's worked:)

Make a sleepover at your house more manageable
If you have a bunch of little girls or boys staying over at your house for a sleepover and you don't want to be up all night, set your clock forward by an hour. They will think that they stayed up way late when in fact you get them to bed much earlier - and you still get some extra sleep.

Color organization
Multiple kids? An easy way to keep things straight like towels, sheets, backpacks, toothbrushes etc., is to have every child select a color and buy items for each child by color. Avoid really unusual colors. At a glance, you can know which child left their drinking glass on the back porch and, whose damp towel is curled up on the floor and if all the sets of sheets made it down for laundry day.

Stop a biting child
After the bite, immediately put a dab of hot sauce on his tongue with your finger and say in a firm voice, NO BITING! Then, give him some water. I witnessed a child go from seven bites daily down to one or none - a definite improvement. By the way, you can also try lemon juice or vinegar instead of hot sauce.
