Buying/Selling
Save money on produce
When purchasing pre-bagged produce, the largest quantity is not always the least expensive. For example, a 10 lb bag of potatoes at my store was $3.27 and the 5 lb bag was on sale for $1.15. Two 5 lb bags (equivalent of 10 lbs) only cost $2.30. Don’t stop the savings there though – weigh the bags before you purchase them. My “5 lb” bag of potatoes actually weight 6.27 lbs. or $0.18 per pound instead of the higher $0.327 per pound for the 10 lb bag.
