 | | | Technology Dry out USB flash drive from washing machine Forgot to take the USB flash drive out of your pocket? Don't panic. First dry the flash drive with dry tissue, and then take out the pcb board from the case. Dry it with dry tissue. The last step is to keep your flash drive in front of a light bulb (range 10 cm). Leave it about 1-2 day and then make sure it is dry. Then put back in the case. It should work again. | | | | | | Alexander in Brooklyn, New York | Tips Published: 1 Forward to Friend | Post Comment | Comments (4)

I had a rubber coated flash drive and it went through the wash. To my surprise, it still worked fine, no corrupt data. You might want to put the flash drive in a bowl of rice too, it soaks up moisture (same with cell phones)

First of all don't worry, theirs no batteries in a flash drive, so it can't fry. Blow dry the flash drive dry.
