Purchase gift cards throughout the school year
Each month purchase a $5-$10 gift card at a local store or restaurant. Place these cards in a small safe or secure location. At the end of the school year (or on holidays), reach into your stack and pull out 2-3 cards. Tie with ribbon and place in a homemade card and you have several gifts to give teachers, bus drivers or even the crossing guard without the expense hitting you all at once. $5-$10 a month isn't noticed but $60-$120 all at once certainly is.
