 | | | Beauty > Skin care Rubbing alcohol is cheap effective facial cleanser Rubbing alcohol is a cheap and effective facial cleanser. Apply a small amount to a cotton ball and rub all over your face. It removes make-up, oil, dirt and even bacteria. Great for acne prone or oily skin. Try it. You might even replace your normal facial cleanser. | | | | | | Sariah in Vancouver, Washington | Tips Published: 1 Forward to Friend | Post Comment | Comments (14)

Sorry to say this, but rubbing alcohol also strip the skin's natural oils, causing premature wrinkles and aging. Especially the face which is extremely sensitive.

Oh no Do NOT use rubbing alcohol on your face. Your face is very sensitive and it could make your face red, blotchy, and make it even dryer.

Witch Hazel is a better alternative. Alcohol dries skin out terribly.

This would only be in extreme EXTREME cases of acne. Please don't rub alcohol on your face, it will peel the skin away, and hurt very badly.

I used to use alcohol on my face when I was a teenager. I didn't know any better. I found out the hard way and had to spend a lot of time "recovering" from the effects. Alcohol should never be used on anyone's face at any time.

DO NOT PUT ALCOHOL on your face. that is the worst thing you could use to clean your face. wow I cant believe this got submitted as a "good" tip. I think its common sense not to do that..

It may be cheap, but it's definitely not effective. Actually it's the opposite of effective. If you want to have beautiful skin, then I say your skin looks better now than after you would apply alcohol on it. We are advised to avoid buying facial products with alcohol as an ingredient. It's too harsh for the face.

OH WOW! My boyfriend does this all the time. He is in construction, and he finds that after scrubbing his face with soap and washcloth it still is not 100% clean....I didn't know alcohol was so damaging!

I have used alcohol for years and before me my mother did.It is best for people who have more of an oily skin than those who struggle with dry or normal skin, but I respectfully disagree with the other comments. I'm 41 and I use it all the time, to clear up my face. My mother pats it on her face as well and she has the softest skin I've ever felt. Do what you need to do but when something works for you, go with it.
