Crate your pets in closet instead of kennel
If you are planning to entertain in your home for an evening and don't want to take your excitable or large dogs to a kennel, consider crating them in a large walk-in closet with the door ajar. They will enjoy the calm and so will you and your guests. Collapsible crates are available and store flat until needed.
