 | | | Technology When to turn off your camera flash for better pics How many times have you seen people taking pics at night of far away things (like fireworks or a singer on stage) and their camera flash goes off?
If you use your camera in auto mode, the flash will go off if the light is low - but this isn't always a good thing.
Check your flash range (it'll be, VERY roughly, between 5 amd 15 metres) and if your subject is further away, TURN OFF YOUR FLASH - it won't do you any good and worse still may possibly ruin your shot. | | | | | | Adam in Berkhamsted, | Tips Published: 2 Forward to Friend | Post Comment | Comments (0)

 | | | Family Getting started with breastfeeding A newborn baby's stomach is only about the size of a marble. It gets just a little bit larger each day after that. Because the stomach is so tiny, the baby will only eat a tiny amount at each feeding, but will probably nurse quite often - maybe every hour or more. Your colostrum (the very first breastmilk) is the best thing your baby can eat, and he or she will probably only eat about a teaspoon at each feeding. | | | | | | Nathalie in East Machias, ME | Tips Published: 2 Forward to Friend | Post Comment | Comments (0)

 | | | Cooking How to get a free lunch with real fast food We've heard that no free lunch, but here's a way that you can. Don't purchase microwave meals for lunch! After dinner pull out your freezer containers- don't limit yourself by today's menu, mix and match today's veggies with last nights entree. Then you put them back in the freezer. Now you know exactly what you are getting in your meal. It doesn't feel like leftovers because it's freshly frozen. It is a healthy, fast and green way to save money. | | | | | | Donna in Newport News, Va | Tips Published: 2 Forward to Friend | Post Comment | Comments (0)

 | | | Household > Cleaning Get rid of skunk smell in your house A couple of summers ago, I opened the back door to let the dog in and a skunk had just sprayed the yard. The fumes just entered my house before I could close the door. I tried everything for 2 weeks and nothing worked to get the horrible smell of burning rubber out of my house. A fried told me to try Ozium. It is a spray that has a very strong smell to rid odor. It was the only thing that worked to get rid of the smell! | | | | | | Gerrie in Dearborn, MI | Tips Published: 1 Forward to Friend | Post Comment | Comments (0)

 | | | Beauty > Hair care How to tame frizzy hair in summer heat If you have dry or curly hair and unmanageable frizz try using a dab of baby oil. To use drop a dab of baby oil into palm rub hands together so its not so greasy, then apply to hair dapping from root to tip. Don't saturate the hair or it will look dirty and well greasy, just apply enough to tame the unwanted frizz and add a little shine. It's much cheaper then those expensive anti-frizz serums at the salons and works just as well. | | | | | | Brittany in aston, pa | Tips Published: 3 Forward to Friend | Post Comment | Comments (0)

 | | | Wellness > Dieting What are calories Of these six nutrients, only carbohydrates, proteins, and fats provide calories. A calorie is a measurement, just like a teaspoon or an inch. Calories are the amount of energy released when your body breaks down food. The more calories a food has, the more energy it can provide to your body. When you eat more calories than you need, your body stores the extra calories as fat. Even low-carb and fat-free foods can have a lot of calories that can be stored as fat. | | | | | | Ivailo in Kyustendil, | Tips Published: 15 Forward to Friend | Post Comment | Comments (0)

 | | | Family How to get your child to give up the pacifier Make a big deal out of wrapping up the pacifiers in a box like a present with your child. You can even write a little note explaining how your child is a "big boy/girl" now and will not need them anymore. Then "deliver" the present to your local hospital or donation center (Goodwill, etc.) with your child to give the "present" to the babies who need them. Not only do you get rid of the pacifiers, but you are teaching your child about giving! We did this with my kids, and it worked really well. | | | | | | April in Fort Wayne, IN | Tips Published: 3 Forward to Friend | Post Comment | Comments (0)
