When to add parsley to a dish
When adding parsley to a dish it is always good to add it toward the last minutes of cooking. It will then impart a bright, fresh flavor. Parsley is good for more than just color.

How to measure your stick of butter
Before you take the stick of butter or margarine out of the wrapper, take the dull side of a knife to make imprints at each tablespoon mark so when you put the wrapper in the container you can still tell where each tablespoon mark is. That way when you need just a tablespoon or two it's easier to go off the guide marks instead of guessing.

How to keep cookies soft
Replace part (up to 1/2) of the sugar in your cookie recipe with honey. Honey is liquid at room temperature and never hardens. Experiment with the replacement portions, and once you've found the "sweet spot" so to speak, you'll have the soft cookies you've always dreamed of for your favorite cookie recipes!

How to evenly fill up an ice cube tray
When filling up an ice-cube tray, tip the tray at approximately a 45° angle and let the water flow over each compartment. When it looks like it can't hold any more water - you're finished! Pull the tray away from the water source and then tip back to the regular position. Now you have even ice cubes that won't spill over the top of the tray.

How to get kids to eat tomatoes
If you want your little ones to eat more tomatoes try putting a can of diced tomatoes in with macaroni and cheese. In our house all we do is boil the macaroni, place cubes of cheddar cheese in the drained macaroni and add the can of tomatoes. You will be amazed when your children ask for seconds.

How to keep basil fresh
To keep fresh basil, and other fresh herbs, at their best, don't put them in the refrigerator. Instead, keep them in a glass of water on your counter. They'll stay greener and fresher and make a nice decoration!

Great tender pork chop recipe
Rather then cooking pork chops on the grill try using the oven. Lay down a sheet of tin foil and place the chops on it. Then add some seasoning. I use a mixture of stout beer, garlic and spices. Now put another sheet of foil on top and cook for 1 hour at 300 degrees. Pour out the water and flip them. Apply more seasoning and cook for another hour. Next take the foil off the top and cook for 15-20 minutes to brown. Add a little BBQ sauce and cheese and cook for 5-10 more minutes.

Love panini’s, but don't have a fancy panini press? No problem! You can press your sandwich with a second pan weighed down with heavy cans OR you can use a garden brick wrapped in foil. Who needs expensive gadgets? Not me!

How to reheat pizza to perfection
Here is a quick and easy tip that everyone ought to know! When reheating leftover pizza in the microwave, the crust often turns rock hard. To keep this problem from happening, wet the bottom of the cold pizza crust with water. Be generous but don't soak the crust. This water will create steam in the microwave and will give you pizza crust that is as soft and fresh as when the pizza was first baked!
