Identify all your electronic cables
To keep all your electronic cables in order, each time you get a new device (cell phone, digital camera, iPod, etc.) label each one with a strip of white tape or Scotch tape over a piece of paper (cell phone charger, digital camera to computer, scanner to computer, etc.). You might think you'll remember what each cable belongs to, but when you find yourself with a bag of similar cables, you'll wish each had a label so you'd know which cable went with which device.

Buy a digital camera without digital zoom
Camera advertisements can be very misleading. One of the things to look out for is "digital zoom" AKA no zoom. What "digital zoom" really does is crop and enlarging the image digitally with irreversibly quality loss. If you want to have real zoom funcinality buy a camera with optical zoom. Optical zoom physically manipulates the camera lends to let you take pictures without sacrificing photograph quality.

How to protect your privacy online
To prevent everyone that has your email from finding out everything you participate in online, use a separate email to sign up for online services. Then set up that email to automatically forward to your main email address. This will prevent people from finding you in address book/email searches that are increasingly available on social networking sites since your sign up email won't be in their address book.
